LCDL and LDHI at ALA 2015

Going to ALA 2015 in San Francisco this year? The Lowcountry Digital Library and the Lowcountry Digital History Initiative will be presenting "Providing Context for Digital Collections" on Monday, June 29th at 1:00pm.  We hope to see you there!

Presentation Description:
This panel will discuss the Lowcountry Digital Library's decision to create the Lowcountry Digital History Initiative (LDHI), an Omeka-based digital exhibition platform that provides context for its growing digital collections. LDHI translates archival materials, historic landscapes and structures, and expertly curated interpretation into digital public history exhibitions. Topics covered will include workflow and technology challenges, how digital collections and exhibits can (or can't) work together and what customizations were made to Omeka for this project.
