About the Collection
This collection includes various bills and receipts from the last thirty years of Susan Alston’s (1832-1921) life. This encompasses her purchases of groceries, building materials, hair products, and more; in addition, this includes payments for utilities such as telephone, water, and gas. Finally, this collection contains the tax records for both the Edmondston-Alston House and Fairfield Plantation while owned by Susan Alston in the 20th century.
