- A one-page document with extracts of letters from Mr. Thorton and the Count de Vergennes. In the first extract, J. Thorton writes to Ralph Izard to state that he had informed Dr. Franklin and Mr. Lee of the "injurious report" propagated against them. In the second extract, Thorton writes to the American commissioners in Paris to inform them of what was said by Lord North. The third extract is in French and was sent from the Count de Vergennes to Mr. Grand.
