Makes notation that the enslaved person Toney came back and has not been punished. According to Toney, Stephen tricked Toney to travel with him, only to be told later on that Stephen, who was supposedly armed, was taking his family to the "Yankees" and that Toney needs to come with them. Toney eventually was able to leave and return to the plantation.

Letter to Mordecai Marks Levy from his nephew, Edward Anderson Levy, regarding his uncle's travels. Edward mentions the death of his father, meeting with friends, and states his servant "Silvy" says hello to Mordecai. Edward goes on to say that his father "left very near all his negroes" to him in his will. Edward closes the letter by discussing hunting, wishing well to Jane and children, and lamenting the death of his father.
The Account Journal, 1774-1777, was written by an unknown author recording financial accounts, tasks performed by enslaved persons, the planting of indigo, cotton, rice and corn and numerous memorandums between Paul Villepontoux and Peter Marion. A few journal entries reference enslaved persons who ran away from the plantations as well as verses pertaining to freedom and General George Washington. Journal contains entries from a second use, which are written upside down and interspersed with the first use.
