Moise writes about his uncle, portrait painter Theodore Sidney Moise (b. 1808), and describes two treasured possessions, a portrait by T. S. Moise of his brother, E. Warren Moise (b. 1810)—Warren Hubert’s father—and a silver bowl given to E. W. Moise by the Louisiana Pilots’ Association in the early 1850s. W. H. Moise writes about his brother—his nephew’s father—also named Theodore Sidney (b. 1862), whom he refers to as Dor.
