- Engel family photograph taken in a garden in Zakroczym, Poland in 1938 shortly before his aunt and cousin, Ruth and Fay Kadish, left for the states. Of the family members shown in the photograph only Joe, Ben Engel (brother), Irene Engel (sister) and Ruth and Fay Kadish would survive the war.
