Henrietta writes of sewing the Bishop some summer "drawers and under shirts" and mentions that "the people of Cheraw find fault with all the Charlestonians because they say they cannot find anything to eat." She mentions the evacuation of Richmond, General Sherman's stay in their hometown of Cheraw and the Ursulines' move from their burned out convent in Columbia to the Bishop's plantation two miles away.
