The Weston Family Ledger (1764-1769) contains accounts of credit and estates with numerous individuals and businesses. The ledger was also used by an unidentified author as a plantation journal and contains entries and accounts (1830-1847, 1851, 1855) pertaining to Weston family plantations. Many of the 19th century notes list food, clothing and fabric rations distributed to slaves on the plantations.
The Stoney Account Book, 1837-1838, and Plantation Daybook, 1852 is a bound volume kept by the Stoney family, possibly John Stafford Stoney, in which the first half of the book documents payments for shipping, freights, wharfage and commissions from GM Thompson, Wade Hampton II, William Cunningham, Robert E. Russell, Mary Hampton, Horace Osborne & Co., John Preston, and Nesbit Manufacturing Co. The second half of the book was written by a plantation overseer at Medway Plantation in which he documents the tasks performed by enslaved people and the slaves who missed work due to sickness. The names of the slaves are listed as: Abraham, Andrew, Beck, Bella, Bess, Binah, Bob, Brooke, Celia, Cesar, Charlot, Cily, Dido, Dinah/Old Dinah, Dolly, Edward, Elsey, Grace, Hector, Hercules, Jack, Jackey, Kate, Maully, Moses, Old Elley, Old Felix, Old Jerry, Peter, Philaskey, Philis, Pussy, Quash, Robert, Robin, Rosannah, Sam, and Samey.

The John Ball Plantation Account Book, 1812-1834, is an indexed account book kept by overseers at various plantations owned by the Ball family. Overseers named are John Cox, Arthur McFarland, Samuel Lynes, Alexander McKnight, Britton Bunch, John Dickson, Thomas Fincklea, James Coward, and John Page. Of particular interest are two different accounts, one with William Deas, referred to as a "Mulatto" and the other "Free Nancy," a free black woman at Limerick Plantation who was buying and trading rice and sugar.
The Baptism Book for Enslaved People at Walworth and Leamington Plantations, 1848-1853, is a record of enslaved men, women and children who were baptized under officiating ministers Rev. William Dehon and Rev. Christopher D. Gadsden. The book also makes notations regarding enslaved persons who were dead upon receiving baptism. The last two pages are entries about the enslaved persons who underwent the rite of confirmation.

Haynes, overseer at Gowrie Plantation, Louis Manigault and Charles Manigault Jr. Topics of conversation found in these letters include business operations at the plantations, enslaved people's resistance via running away, treatment and punishment of slaves, a group of slaves taking an overseer to court, living abroad in Paris, Charles Manigault's views on racial equality in Paris, the Manigault children's schooling in Paris and at Yale College, traveling Europe, meeting Muhammad Ali, the leader of Egypt and discussing the Mexican American War and Egyptian politics, Charles Manigault's Huguenot ancestry and history, and being in Paris during the French Revolution of 1848.

Ravenel. Other entries refer to stocks and bonds, a store on East Bay Street in Charleston, South Carolina, a house and lot on the Battery in Charleston as well as slaves mentioned by name. The names of the slaves are listed as: Alick, David and William.

The Lydia Waring Estate Book contains a copy of Lydia Jane Ball Waring's will, copies of inventories and appraisals of goods and chattel at Comingtee Plantation and at 21 East Bay Street, Charleston, South Carolina. Accounts also include those of John B. Waring, Ann Simons Waring, and Francis Malbone Waring with their guardians Keating Simons Ball and Ann Deas. The accounts contain appraisements of slaves, their names and the amount obtained from the wages of slaves and expenses incurred by slaves.
The Edisto Island Presbyterian Church Register is an unbound book recorded between 1837-1901. The register contains minutes from church sessions, baptism and marriage records, church memberships and church controversies with references to enslaved men and women by name and the accusations against them. Also included is the constitution of the Edisto Union Church, which was formed by Africans Americans, formerly enslaved, who took over the Edisto Island Presbyterian Church following the Civil War.

Receipts include the payments made to buyers of enslaved people, money sent for subscriptions to newspapers and to the Charleston Library Society, the American Revolution Society, and churches. Other receipts include money for advertisements and political campaigns, employee wages, tuition money for his daughters and funeral expenses and memorials following the death of his son, Daniel Huger Jr.

The Isaac Hayne Journal contains information on births, ages, deaths, marriages, memorandums, information on breeding horses, ages of enslaved men, women and children and bills of scantling. The entries on ages contain an alphabetical listing of individuals and their birth dates and entries on slaves include births, deaths and occasional notes concerning the sale of slaves as well as runaway slaves. The journal also includes notes on plantation management such as the issuing of blankets and the work of overseers, plowmen, housekeepers, and others.
