It contains the names of yearly and weekly renters and the rents paid, an inventory of movable articles on the plantation, information on increases and decreases in the number of cattle, mules and horses, a detailed list of the cattle and their names, the plantation's day book for the month of January 1866, detailed accounts with George McClean & Co. and Nightengale & Co., book keeping records of all accounts listing debits and credits between Newton Plantation and Michael Thomas Greaves for the sale and purchase of a number of items as well as delivery records for rum, sugar and molasses.
This journal contains detailed records of all the slaves on the Plantation in 1828. It shows the names of the slaves and their respective occupations on the plantation. It also goes on to detail the increases and decreases of the slaves, which were by birth or death. The births have details of the mother's name and the child's name. The document also gives a detailed list of the livestock on the farm, including the cattle, sheep, horses and pigs.
