In English, the text reads: --Levi: "Oh - I'm dying - I have bequeathed each of you 8000 Thaler, my son will disburse them to you after a year." --Heirs: "Why only after a year?" --Levi: "Nu - Pay off my discount for me, then I will put it in the will, that you all can receive it right away." Discounting is a financial mechanism in which a debtor obtains the right to delay payments to a creditor in exchange for a charge or fee.
