Letter from Sidney Legendre to his wife, Gertrude Legendre, lamenting the fact that the Army men stationed on the island have been allowed to have their wives join them but the Navy men have not. Sidney continues in his letter to describe a friend of theirs that is being transferred off the island, listing the various forms of mail they have tried and their corresponding speeds, and encouraging her to take any foreign job she may be offered. He also describes the work day for he and Morris and their time after work spent swimming and surfing at the Outrigger beach club.
