- The Account of Enslaved Persons and Various Stories, 1831-1844, is kept by or for a member of the Ball family. The first half of the account book contains various lists of enslaved men, women and children owned by John Ball at Comingtee/Stoke, Kensington and Midway Plantations in Berkeley County, South Carolina. These lists include enslaved persons given first or second quality blankets, cloth, clothes and osnaburg fabric as well as lists of pregnant enslaved women or enslaved infants given clothes. The second half of the book contains stories retold by various persons on topics such as an eyewitness account of the Steamship Pulaski Disaster in 1838, stories of enslaved persons including the execution of an enslaved man, stories about the family of George Chicken, eyewitness accounts of the British occupation in Charleston during the Revolutionary War, numerous ghost stories and an account of the first settlers of Charlestown.

- This book contains records of the names of yearly and weekly renters and the rents paid, inventory of movable articles on the plantation, including the location of the articles, information on increases and decreases in the number of cattle, mules, sheep, and horses, a detailed list of the cattle and their names, the plantation's daily records, detailed accounts for items purchased as well as transactions between Newton Plantation and M. T. Greaves for the sale and purchase of a number of items, showing debits (Dr) and credits (Cr) as well as delivery records for sugar and rum. on the second page this book records the birth of a triplet- three boys to Mary Carmichael. Although it is labelled a day book, this book seems to be a miscellaneous book that covers some accounts for the before mentioned categories.
5. Newton Plantation Rent Book 1857

- This book contains the records of yearly and weekly renters giving their names, number, house, acreage rented and the rent. It also records information for some of the livestock on the plantation. It shows increases in horses, mules and sheep and gives a detailed list of the cattle showing the increases and decreases along with all their names and who they were sold to in the event of a sale. This book also gives information on persons employed by the plantation, It goes on to give a detailed list of all movable articles on the plantation within the buildings and in the yard. A detailed list of some of the accounts which were held at that time, showing transactions between Newton Plantation and E. Knight & Co., William Cherry & Co. Thomas Louis & Son, Edward G. Barr Esq. , P. Killkelly & Co. and Michael Thomas Greaves. It also incorporates the 1857 sugar book showing the delivery of sugar, rum and molasses and the amounts which were yielded from the plantation.

T. Greaves, G.W.McClean & Co. and Nightengale & Co. for the sale and purchase of a number of items, showing debits Dr) and credits (Cr) as well as delivery records for sugar rum and molasses. Although it is labelled a day book, this book seems to be a miscelleneous book that covers some accounts for the before mentioned categories.
10. Newton Plantation Day Book 1865

- This book contains records of yearly and weekly renters, comprehensive inventories of movable items and cattle, as well as increases in the stock of horses and mules. The Day Book section records the daily recordings of some activities on the plantation. This book was used as somewhat of a multi purpose book as it also gives an account of the standings of accounts and transactions with some listed companies such as G.W. McClean & Co., Michael Greaves as well as Nightengale & Co. It then goes on to detail deliveries of rum, sugar and molasses produced on the plantation and sold to customers.
