Columbia 14th Nov. 1864 Dr. Jas H. Boatwright Dear Sir I have received your note of the 12th Inst. in which you offer me the house I now occupy in the name of Dr. Freeman and yourself at $8000. rent for the next year. I accept it at that price. I suppose of course you expect the payment in Confederate currency but to prevent misunderstanding you will oblige me by stating as much in writing. Difficulties lately with other parties must be offered in excuse for requesting what [End Page 1] may otherwise seem to you to be so unnecessary a stipulation. Very Respectfully Your Obdt. Jas. B. Heyward [End Page 2]
