The Chairman addresses a number of commonly voiced objections to the acquisition, including competition with private entities, the creation of a monopoly, the sales price of the acquisition, harm to the war effort, and the overall benefit to the people of South Carolina. The Chairman concludes by urging the members of the General Assembly to vote in favor of its passage.
