This article discusses the history behind Beaufain Street in Charleston, various burial sites, the first preaching to take place in the White Meeting House in 1690, the division of burial grounds for the "reception of master and slave," the first parsonage in 1698, and the "great gale" in 1752 where people died, and an enslaved man was clinging to a tree and rescued. Also includes are the histories of the Ball, Coming and Harleston families.
