In 1945, Wallenberg was detained by Russian soldiers when the Soviet Army entered Budapest. The postcard is pre-addressed to "President of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR" and includes a printed message: "35 years are enough! Tell us the full truth about the fate of Raoul Wallenberg, the fighting Swedish humanitarian. It has not been proved that he is dead. We believe that he is alive. Release him immediately!"
